NFM Cathode Powder
Material for Li-ion Batteries
NFM is the new material for cathode electrode making while producing lithium ion battery.
Why is it "ternary lithium" instead of "ternary sodium"?
According to physical common sense, we know that only the positive
electrode material does not form a complete battery structure. A
battery with discharge capability = positive electrode + negative
electrode + electrolyte (containing electrolyte). The "lithium" of
ternary lithium batteries refers to the use of lithium salts mainly
composed of lithium hexafluorophosphate as electrolytes, which play
the role of conducting electrons. The characteristics of the
negative electrode material are not reflected in the name, mainly
because the negative electrode material of most lithium-ion
batteries is graphite (either natural or artificial).
To sum up: The ternary in the ternary lithium battery refers to a
polymer containing three metal elements of nickel (Ni), cobalt
(Co), manganese (Mn) or aluminum (Al), which is used as the
positive electrode in the ternary lithium battery; Lithium refers
to an electrolyte in which the electrolyte is mainly lithium
hexafluorophosphate, and the negative electrode material is
generally graphite.
Why do everyone choose ternary lithium batteries?
There are three reasons for this:
① High energy density and guaranteed cruising range
② Life, output power, and cost control are all good
③ Although the security is very poor, it is easier to change than
to increase the energy density, saving time and effort
